Speaking on this issue Google Adsense Team said that they to impose such rules to ensure the quality of their advertising network and to protect the interests of advertisers & publishers Adsense has to impose domain age qualifications for the fresh applications and this doesn’t mean that new publishers are not accepted.

So what is Domain Age Qualifications? Indian publishers who want to sign up for Adsense in order to have an Adsense account has to pass the domain age qualifications i.e., you site or blog should be older than atleast 6 months and that is not all your blog should have enough content which is unique.

Yes, Google Adsense is accepting new sites/blog which are 6 months old but you should write your own unique content. If your content is copied from Wikipedia or Ezinearticles or some other sources found on Internet then its a duplicated content and forget about Adsense is such cases.

And also Blogspot blogs are also acceptable for the new applications but the above criteria for the new applications is also applicable for blogspot blog.

One can easily say that these rules were imposed in order to avoid fraudalent activities in India and some of the other Asian countries. In India we have often seen people buying and selling Adsense account, renting Adsense Accounts and much above them fraudalent and invalid clicks. You can buy an Adsense account for Rs 500 and that too buy bulk get discount. I don’t know how far its working but I am sure that this is not the way to get an Adsense account.

By seeing such activities one can easily predict that Adsense team might come up with more strict rules for the Indian publishers. I hope publishers from India understand this and put work in a legal way.

Every month thousands of Google Adsense publishers are banned and there are always rumors all around the web saying that Google has a policy of disabling the accounts randomly. Now lets get into this issue in detail and find out whats the truth behind this and know some real facts which most people have no idea about.

Fiction : Google Adsense bans publishers randomly when they find a minor problem.
Real Fact : Google makes on an average of 32% of revenue from the amount they earn from their advertisers while the balance 68% is shared with us the Adsense Publishers. Now lets say if you as a publisher make atleast 10$/day in revenue this comes to somewhere around 3650$ in a years time. When Google is going to pay you 3650$ they would have already made around 1600$ through the advertisements you have served on your website. Hence there is no point Google is running some script to randomly disable accounts because their main business runs only because both Adwords advertisers believe the network and the Adsense publishers run the ads perfectly.

Let me share with you few things which can make sure that your Adsense account is not banned and you enjoy a good life with checks coming up from the Google Team.

* Place Advertisements in Right Places : There is no point is placing the ad banners at locations which can get you clicks because your visitors would find them as normal links and not ads. This could obviously lead to a higher CTR but when the visitor visits the advertisers website they would quickly press the back button to find more relevant stuff and this is one way the Adwords advertiser would not be getting the results what they were expecting for. Tricking the Visitors is not a smart idea, there are many bloggers and website owners who use dark colored themes and use adsense just below the titles of download links, free resources, free stuff which would make the visitors to click on the advertisements making the whole system useless for advertisers.
* Ads on sites that contain prohibited content : As a advertiser i wont be happy if my website is advertised on a blog which has adult or mature content. While my target is to get sales out of the advertisements published through Adwords system, if the ads are displayed on a non family friendly site, its better to opt for another advertising network. This is what happens all of time which is the reason Google has imposed a few rules, terms and conditions for Adsense Publishers to stop displaying ads on the adult or mature content, gambling-related content, or drug content. If the ads are placed by mistake, Google would notify you about the same and you should remove them asap.
* Customize or Modify Adsense Code with css or Javascript : There are many Adsense publishers who keep looking for different ways to edit the ad codes which are offered through the Publisher section. This is because they want to make sure that the ads look similar to what the Premium Publishers get, but since this feature is allowed only to the Premium Publishers there is no point in even thinking about modifying the ad code because this could lead to a quicker Ban of the complete account. You are allowed only to change the font, color, size etc only through the publisher panel and no other options are technically allowed which if done would be against the TOS.
* Referring Sites : It is very important that you should implement legit ways to get visitors to your website. Websites which get traffic through Pay Per View, Paid to Click (PTC), Adult Sites, Popup Ads are directly in voilation to the TOS and these kind of promotion is not allowed. You should also not indulge in Adsense Adwords Arbitrage because that can also get your account banned.
* Clicking Own Ads : There would be a thousand of reasons or excuses made by Publishers when they click on their own ads like – I was testing a interesting advertisement, i was testing if am getting paid for a specific ad, i wanted to find the revenue made through some ads, i was testing adsense format, testing adsense section targeting which are all actually not allowed. This is because the click you have made on the advertisement is not going to help the advertiser in any way and this is the very reason its always recommended to avoid viewing or clicking on your own ads.
* Do not Beg for Clicks : Many google adsense publishers have a habit of begging for clicks on message boards, instant messengers, chat rooms, social networking websites etc. They even indulge in click exchange programs where in they click on others ads on a daily basis and the other people in these groups click back. This is to make sure that the accounts reach a minimum payment amount of 100$ and then they can continue the same with another account. All of these scamming tactics have made Google to make the Account Approval Process more strict by adding new rules of 6 months old domain and domain ownership if not the account will be rejected. There is no point in asking others to click on google ads because you could earn a lot more if you go the legal way by getting real visitors to your website.

Finally here are a few useful suggestions – First read the Google Adsense FAQ, followed by Filtering Ads, Changing Ad Colors Automatically & then reading Serious Adsense PPC Tips which can Increase your Adsense Revenue.

WordPress 3.0 CMS is just awesome with the loaded features and amazing stuff which were added in this new version. The backend ie the WordPress Dashboard located at Wp-Admin now loads faster and has better color theme. Except all of this stuff there is only 1 feature which i seriously hate because it made me loose severals hours finding out a fix for the bug. The Bug was actually with Images which were uploaded using the Upload Media option, which was not displaying Images within the blog posts and when i contacted my host and the server techie they too had a hard time finding a solution for this.

WordPress 3.0 CMS LogoWordPress Founder ‘Matt Mullenweg‘ wrote a code which would make sure that the word WordPress would be replaced with WordPress because he wants the former word to be eliminated from the planet. The code automatically implements the changes in the Blog content, the post title, and comment text section and replace everything if there is a change found. If you have a Image on your blog with the name ‘WordPress-Logo.png’, then it would be automatically replaced if you upgraded your copy to ‘WordPress-Logo.png’ making the image disappear from the blog posts because the original URL is unchanged and its different from what is being served in the blog post, breaking the article.

One solution for this would be to either change all the URL’s in your media folder for the Images to make sure that you implemented the Capital P in all the file names. A better option WordPress should have implemented in that this feature should have been implemented only in the posts which are written or published after the 3.0 upgrade but by default its implemented on the whole blog content because of which everything gets broken without a fix.

Another solution would be installing a WordPress Plugin called as ‘Remove WordPress to WordPress filter’ which can be downloaded from here, which would replace the new changes and functions implemented in the blog. Even though this kind of fix is going to be a temporary one but there is no other option available except either implementing a manual change in the URL’s of the Images or else continuing with this WordPress plugin.
There should have been a better fix available for the WordPress users because automatically changing this way is going to give everyone a lot of time waste and all of this burden just for converting the “WordPress” to “WordPress”.

PS : Make sure that from now on you don’t call this Blogging CMS WordPress, Word Press, wordPress, WORDPRESS, or WoRdPrEsS because its WordPress!

Just upgrade your current WordPress blog to the latest version and then make sure you are logged into the Dashboard & Ftp to get started.

First access the wp-config.php file and then add the following line of code in the file. You can place it just before this line which can be found almost at the end of the wp-config file. ‘/* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */’. Once this is done you will find a new option under the Tools panel under the Wp-Admin section.

New York Times displays the next article in such a beautiful way that in most of the cases the readers would easily click on the small button or the box and move towards reading it. The best part is that these kind of small & tiny buttons would ensure that your readers stay for a longer period on your blog and also would also decrease the bounce rate.

Now the same feature is available for wordpress blogs in the form of a plugin called as upPrev. When the blog reader would scroll down towards the end of the article they would see a small animated button at the bottom right corner with a link to the next article of the same category. The current available effects are fade-in or a fly-in animation and you can device what kind of animation would suit your blog.

We have currently implemented this plugin on few of our blogs to just test out the service and if this is actually liked by our readers or not. Sometimes these kind of buttons can be very useful to the readers and sometimes they would make them distracted while reading something important which is the reason its better to test it out for a few days and then compare the results through the statistics on the page views. Followed is a screen-shot of this plugin in use at this blog. Another similar plugin which you could be using is Scroll To Top Plugin

WordPress is always considered as one of the Best CMS and there are several thousand reasons for the same. As the Blogs grow bigger, they get huge number of comments below the blog posts because of which the scrolling becomes hard and the readers have to manually move the scroll bar for moving back to the top or else select the Page Up or Page Down buttons on the keyboard.

Here is a alternative for this traditional system of scrolling web pages, where in we will use the help of a WordPress Plugin called Scroll to Top, which does a simple job but very useful function. It adds a small arrow on the right footer of your screen which is visible only when the page is scrolled below the first screen view. Just install & activate this WordPress Plugin on your blog and you will find it activated.

You can view a demo of this on our blog itself by moving towards the footer. Other options which are offered by this Plugin are changing the Scroll Speed (in milisecond), changing the default Image which is shown on the blog etc.

The blog’s loading speed is one of the most important factor for many reasons like Google Search Engine Rankings, making visitors access faster blog etc. Normally most of the bloggers use professional looking WordPress themes which are heavily coded with a lot of css codes and Images. The Images can be easily optimized with the use of Image Compression Software’s.

CSS CompressorIf you have huge number of visitors to your blog, then you can save up bandwidth too by compressing the CSS Files, because any file reduction on the web hosting files can save up both the Space & Bandwidth. We would recommend using this tool which offers with a lot of customization options to your CSS Files.

Initially you need to paste down all the CSS Code from your style.css file which is located in the themes folder of your WordPress installation. You need to check the following options :

Spaces and tabs
Replace multiple spaces with just one space
Remove space around chars ;:{},
Leave space between selectors
Leave space between properties
Remove tabs

New lines handling
Leave lines as they are
Replace multiple empty lines with just one empty line
Remove all newlines

Comment handling
Don’t strip any comments
Strip ALL comments
Strip comments at least chars long

Other options
Compress color codes where possible
Remove unnecessary semi-colons
One command per line

My original CSS File was of around

Next once you click on the ‘Compress it’ button, the Online tool will perform all the tasks and then give you a quick report as shown below.

Compression results :
Original size: 27370 bytes
Compressed size: 21828 bytes
Savings: 5542 bytes (20%)

Overall a savings of 20%-60% which means that you would be saving around a few GB’s of Bandwidth of you have a million page views every month along with a faster loading blog which would keep visitors return to your blog regularly.

We have been looking out for a wordpress plugin which can fix the Images display in the Feedburner emails we sent, because in most cases the Images look broken, by displaying between the paragraphs and not correctly listing in the left or right aligned location. Here is a excellent wordpress plugin by w-shadow.com which would allow you in fixing this problem easily.

Whenever you Add a New Image to your blog posts, wordpress will ask you to set a alignment to these Images which would be left/right/center/none along with a Image Caption, and this feature would make the Image look excellent in the blog posts, while the very same image would look messed up in the RSS Feed and this is because of the deprecated align attributed in the latest version from the IMG Tag. You can fix this problem by either adding a small attribute to each uploaded Image or else using the above listed plugin which would fix everything. Manual Code to be added to every Image – style=”float:left;” or style=”float:right;”

This plugin would scan your RSS Feed and make sure that all the Images which are added to different posts are correctly aligned and margins are setup. Since all this stuff is done dynamically, you don’t have to worry about your posts because they won’t be modified.

The plugin works perfect for Google Reader and the W3C Feed Validator, hence its safe to use and give a try to fix all your feed images problems.

Nowadays it has become a trend of running Multi-Authored Blogs and this is because working in a team is better than running as a individual. Overall everyone puts in their efforts and the final results are shared easily among the team. Creating a Multi Authored Blog is a very easy job because WordPress allows you to easily allow others sign-up with your blog and with the different type of user levels you can assign them their profiles. Here is a small tutorial for the same.

* User Registration : The first and foremost step would be allowing the users or authors to register on your blog. Hence you need to visit the Wp-Admin > Settings > General section and allow others to Register with the New Role of the users be assigned to ‘Subscribers’.

All the authors have to visit the www.yourblog.com/wp-admin section and click on the Register Button and proceed with the signup form. Once this is done, you will find the whole list of members under Wp-Admin > Users > Authors & Users section. Here you need to ‘edit’ the Username and change the Role from ‘Subscriber’ to ‘Editor’ following which the new member can edit different posts and also create new posts and publish them.

Once the role for the new member is assigned, you need to request them to edit their bio section and update it with a description information which would be displayed on the Profile Page and also at the end of the blog posts.
* Displaying Author Name : The next step would be displaying the Author Name on the Home Page, Single Blog Posts, Category Pages etc and for this you need to tweak the theme files. Under the Appearance > Editor > single.php file, you need to find the title code and below that add the following code. You can easily tweak this and any related text before or after the code.

Written by <?php the_author_posts_link(); ?>

Make sure that you add the above code in all the files wherever you want the profile link to be displayed.
* Displaying Author profile : This is a very useful option in wordpress if you implement it in the right way, because it allows you to display a small bio of the author along with his photo at the end of the blog posts or any location which you specify in the single post file. You need to add the following code first in the stylesheet file located at style.php

.author{
background: #ececec;
border:1px solid #cccccc;
font-weight: bold;
padding: 5px;
margin-top:10px;
margin-bottom:10px;
}
.avatar {
float: left;
width: 80px;
height: 80px;
}
Next the following code should be added in the single.php file which will enable you to display the author profile within the articles written by them. It will find the article writer based on the email address and display the information.

<div>
<?php
$author_email = get_the_author_email();
echo get_avatar($author_email, ’80′, ‘avatar’);
?>
<?php the_author_description(); ?>
</div>

Adsense Revenue Sharing : When you have got co-authors in your blog, and you want to share the adsense revenue made by the blog on the basis of the efforts made by each Editor, then adsense revenue sharing is one of the best plugins you should use. It allows you to easily manage different ad slots, and shows advertisements from each Publisher ID in the articles written by respective authors. If the blog topics are handled by different editors, then you can use the option of showing ads based on category.
* Displaying List of Author’s : The final step would be displaying a list of all the writers & authors of the blog in the sidebar. For this you need to edit the sidebar.php file and add the following function code to the file and save it. This would show the whole list of authors in a vertical format with names one below the other, normally in alphabetical order.
